Rites Saturday for Herman Georges, 77
Herman Georges, 77, of 753 Sixth avenue, died Wednesday in a Cedar Rapids hospital following a long illness. He was born Aug. 31, 1893, in Chicago. He was married to Gladys Reiter on Oct. 7, 1922, at Norfolk, Neb.
Mr. Georges was a civil engineer and formerly was employed by the Milwaukee railroad. He was deputy auditor in Linn county for six years. He was a member of the First United Methodis church, Germanian lodge, AF and AM, in Chicago, and was a World war I veteran.
Survivors are his wife; two sons, Dr. RIchard H. of Chicago and Robert M. of Hanover Park, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Irvin Hartman of Janesville, Wis., and 11 grandchildren.
Services: Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Baxter Memorial chapel by the Rev. Lloyd C. Kellams. Burial: Oak Shade. Friends may call at the chapel Thursday after 6 p.m. The casket will not be opened after the service. Friends may contribute, if they wish, to a First United Methodist church memorial or any other memorial of their choice.
