Cedar Rapids, Jan. 4. – Daniel Sweeney, one of the oldest boil makers in the employ of B., C. R. & N. Railroad, was killed early this morning while crossing the tracks of the Milwaukee Road. Sweeney was on his way from his home to the B., C. R. & N. shops to begin his days’ work when the accident happened. He was struck by an outgoing Milwaukee train and killed instantly. He was a man about 45 or 50 years of age and leaves a wife and family. He was a good workman and a man highly respected.
