Mrs. Luse Dies; Rites Thursday
Mrs. Charles H. Luse, 68, of Marion, died at 10 a.m. Tuesday at University hospital, Iowa City, after a long illness.
The daughter of Peter and Sarah Burns Kassler, she was born Dec. 2, 1877, near Marion. She was married in September 1908, to George Pierce and they moved to Sioux City. They returned to Marion in 1918, and Mr. Pierce died here in December, 1927. On Feb. 5, 1930, she was married to Mr. Luse at Washington, Pa. They resided at Charmichaels, Pa., until May, 1945, when they came to Marion.
Mrs. Luse was a member of the Marion Baptist church, and a charter member of the Marion American Legion auxiliary. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ruth E. Klopp of Marion; two grandchildren, Nancy Lue and Stephen Klopp; and two brothers, William L. and Carl J. Kassler of Marion.
Services will be held at the Yocom chapel Thursday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Charles Moore will officiate, and burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after noon Wednesday.
