Services Held for Mrs. Elizabeth Carver
Mrs. Elizabeth Carver, 87, a resident of Marion since 1884, died at 2:20 a.m. Saturday, April 12, in Mercy hospital following a long illness.
Mrs. Carver was born in Menasha, Wis., June 12, 1859, the daughter of Frank and Frances Northrup Bowman. She was married to Frank Carver at Marion. Mr. Carver died January 5, 1946 in Cedar Rapids. She was a member of the Marion Church of God.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ethel F. Lampus, Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Frances Blaisdell, Seffner, Fla. A son, Harold, died October 18, 1938.
Services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday from the Yocom chapel by the Rev. Frank H. Ward and Elder Lawrence L. Christensen. Pallbearers were George VanHorn, Weston Carver, Leighten Ford and Donald Scheer. Burial was made in Oak Shade cemetery.
