Funeral for W. Swan, 49, Held Today

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:30 in the Yocom chapel for James William Swan, 49, who died suddenly last Monday morning at Racine, Wis. The local Masons conducted the services with the Rev. Dr. W.C. being held at the Oak Shade cemetery. Keeler officiating and interment[sic]
Mr. Swan had spend Sunday with his family here and left early Monday morning for Racine where he was employed by the Milwaukee railroad in the siknal[sic] departmnet. He was apprently in good health when he departed.
The deceased was born in Abington, Ill., Oct. 10, 1881, and spent his early life there. He married May Davis, also of that city, Oct. 26, 1904, and began housekeeping there. They lived in Abington for three years and then moved to Coon Rapids and three years ago moved to Marion. He has been in the employment of the Milwaukee railroad for the last fifteen eyars.
Mr. Swan was a member of the Charity Masonic lodge at Coon Rapids and the Brotherhood of Railway Signal Men's association.
Those surviving are his widow, two daughters, Marjorie and Garnet; his mother, Mrs. Angie Swan; one sister, Mrs. E.M. Shoemaker, both of Portage, Wis., and a half-brother, John of Council Bluffs.
