MARION - Melvin Olson, 86, of 1394 1st Ave., Marion, died January 20 in St. Luke's Hospital.
Services were held January 23 at Gospel Light Baptist Church, Marion. Burial was at Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Surviving are his wife, Alice; two sons, Douglas Lint of Marion, and Kenneth Lint of Oceanside, California; a daughter, Theola Scott of Marion; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Born the son of Ole and Anna Johnson Olson on February 6, 1905 in Howard County, he was married to Alice Lint on April 14, 1976 at Marion. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was employed at Collis Radio for twenty years, retiring in 1970. Melvin was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church.
Revs. Ronald Morrow and Kevin Williams officiated. Memorials may be made to the Gospel Light Baptist Church.
