Charles W. Barkwill, 43, of 1301 O ave. NE, died Thursday. Born Aug. 15, 1916, at Marion, he was married Sept. 2, 1950 to Gertrude Welbert in Cedar Rapids. A World war II veteran, he was an employe[sic] of Wilson and Co., a member of Trinity Lutheran church and the Marion American Legion post. Surviving are his wife and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Barkwill.
Services: Saturday at 1:30 in Holy Trinity church by the Rev. E.W. Koberg. Burial: Cedar Memorial, where the Marion Legion post will conduct military services. Friends may call at the Murdoch funeral home in Marion from 1 p.m Friday to 11 a.m. Saturday.
