Lillian Clemans Former Marion Resident Dies
Lillian Ann Clemans, widow of Ozzy E. Clemans, passed away at 6 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gretta Richardson, 902 A Ave. N.W., Cedar Rapids.
Mrs. Clemans was born June 6, 1864 in Ohio the daughter of William and Sarah Dennison. She was married to Mr. Clemans on March 1, 1883 at Steward, Ill., and came to Linn County where she has lived since. Mr. Clemans passed away at Marion on Februaty 5, 1934. Mrs. Clemans has made her home in Cedar Rapids for the past ten years. She was a member of the Marion Methodist church.
Surviving in addition to Mrs. Richardson are two sons, William Clemans, Plainview, Neb., Vernon Clemans, Maroin and another daughter, Bertha Boyer, Marion, 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. W.P. Chisman, Wichita, Kan. A son, Carl Clemans passed away in Nebraska in 1951.
Memorial services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5 at the Murdoch chapel by the Rev. James P. Gable, pastor of the Marion Methodist church. Interment was in Oak Shade cemetery.
