Mrs. Jennie May Van Sickle was born at Shippensburg, Penn. June 17, 1884 and died suddenly at her home in Mt. Vernon January 2, 1952.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Presbyterian church in Mt. Vernon of which she was a member, with the pastor, Rev. James W. Bean officiating.

Mrs. Van Sickle came to Iowa with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Cashman in 1897, where she taught school in her young womanhood. On Oct. 7, 1914 she married Dolph Van Sickle and they made their home on a farm near Oxford Junction until 1921 when they moved to Marion. Later they moved to Springville where they purchased a farm. Two years ago they moved to the home in Mt. Vernon where she passed away.

She is survived by her husband, two children, Mrs. James Dunn of Springville and Merl Van Sickle of Beloit, Wis., four grandchildren and the following sisters and brother, Mrs. Cora Samuels, Springville; Mrs. Bertha Methven and Mrs. George Agne, both of Tipton; Mrs. Ethel Andersen of Pasadena, Calif. and Mrs. Mary Phillips and Roy Cashman both of Clarence.

Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cedar Rapids with nephews, Milo Agne, Chris Griem, Lloyd Phillips, Douglas Cashman, Dewitt Methven and Stanley Smith as pallbearers.
