Elderly Marion Resident Dies Here Saturday
Frank Tudeen, 82, passed away at 7:45 a.m. Saturday at his home, 1620 Seventh ave., following a long illness.
He was born September 4, 1870 at Motala, Sweden, the son of Alfred and Edla Tudeen. He came to the United States sixty-three years ago and settled in Boone. He was married there on March 12, 1895 to Emma Johnson. They moved to Marion in 1913 and she passed away here on August 2, 1920. On July 19, 1927 he was married to Bessie Boots at Hampton. He was a retired bridge carpenter with the Milwaukee Railroad and at the time of his retirement he had 45 years of service.
He was a member of the Swedish Lutheran Church at Madrid, Osceola Lodge No. 18, I.O.O.F.; The Veteran Employes' Association of the Milwaukee Road and an Honorary member of the Milwaukee Woman's club.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Ben Tudeen of Marion and Roy Tudeen of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and five daughters, Mrs. Blanch Lochner, Mrs. Viola Burns, Mrs. Viva Zingula and Mrs. Irene Nedrow, all of Marion and Mrs. Ellyne Plotz of Cedar Rapids and four step daughters, Mrs. Klea Cimmers and Mrs. Sadie Kreimeyer of Dumont; Mrs. Vera Allen of Selah, Washington and Mrs. Olive Wright of Cedar Rapids. A daughter, Mrs. Bertha Baker of Marion and a son, Verne Tudeene of Kansas City, Kan., preceded him in death. Also surviving are 31 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Hedvig Bergstrom of Rockford, Ill.
Memorial services were conductea at 2 P.M. Tuesday at the Murdoch Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles Moore. Interment was in the family lot in Oak Shade cemetery. Bearers were Frank Lochner, Robert Zingula, Clarence Tudeen, Bill Plotz, Leland Burns, Lyle Lochner.
