Edward Paul Reed, 85, resident of the Norva hotel, died at 4 a.m. Thursday at University hospitals, Iowa City. Born in Illinois Aug. 5, 1870, Mr. Reed, Cedar Rapids resident many years, was a switchman for the North Western railway until retirement.
Surviving are a stedaughter, Mrs. Frank Pfaff of Cedar Rapids, two stepsons, Joe Frederick of Cedar Rapids and Robert Frederick of Winterset; three sisters, and a brother. His wife died in 1935.
Services will be conducted at the Brady mortuary at a time to be announced later.
