Elizabeth K. Sloan, 79, of 1918 Bever Ave., SE, a lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids and Marion died Sept. 7, in a Marion Care Center. She was born the daughter of Eugene and Laura Fuhrmeister Kershner on June 7, 1899 at rural Marion. On July 13, 1935 at the Little Brown Church at Nashua she was married to Edwin Sloan, who died June 28, 1971 at Marshalltown. Mrs. Sloan was a graduate of Marion High school, and attended Cornell college. She had taught music in the Keystone and Andrew Schools, and was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian church.
There are no immediate survivors.
Services were at 11 a.m. Sept. 11 at the Murdoch chapel in Marion, conducted by Rev. Jack Woods. Interment was in Oak Shade cemetery in Marion.
