Nellie M. Hackert, 77, of 815 Fifth Ave., a lifelong resident of Marion, died Wednesday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Marge Davin, 1840 Hillview Drive, following a long illness.
She was born April 20, 1904, in rural Marion. She was married to John E. Hackert in Iowa City on May 13, 1925. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Besides her daughter are a son, Robert E. Hackert of Marion; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Services: 1 p.m. Friday at the Murdoch Chapel, Marion, by the Rev. Dick Watkins. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery. Friends may call at the Murdoch Chapel after 3 p.m. Thursday.
