Saturday October 28, 1989 Louise Bigger Nielsen, 82, of 1340 Fifth Ave., Marion, died Thursday morning in St. Luke's Hospital, following a short illness.
A lifelong Marion resident, she was born March 22, 1907, at Marion and married Stanley Nielsen June 12, 1934, at Cedar Rapids. He died in 1983. She was a 1931 graduate of Coe College. Mrs. Nielsen was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Marion; Gethsemane Shrine No. 1, Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem; Katherine Court No. 7, Order of the Amaranth; Eu'cha-rist Temple No. 68, Daughters of the Nile; Theristrial Club; Kitchen Band and a 50-year member of Marion Chapter No. 183, Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include a son, Bruce of Harrisburg, Ill; a daughter, Kay of Peoria, Ill.; a sister, Ethel Barnett of Temple City, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
Services: 10 a.m. Monday, Murdoch Chapel, Marion, by the Rev. Jay Miller. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the chapel. A memorial fund has been established.
