Charles T. Chadwick, Sr., 63, a resident of rural Springville, for the past seven years, died June 20 in a Cedar Rapids hospital following a long illness. He was born the son of William B. and Laura Workman Chadwick on March 24, 1915 at Cyrus, W.V. On June 4, 1937 at Cattlesburg, Ken. he was married to Lourrean Ball. Mr. Chadwick, a former resident of Kenova, W.V. had been employed as a chemical
engineer with the Ashland Oil Co., Ashland, Ken. for 20 years, and with the Koch Refinery at St. Paul, Minn. for 20 years until retiring in 1970. He was a member of the Springville United Methodist church.
Surviving are his wife; two daughter, Doris Mann and Mrs. William (Nancy) Fought both of Springville; two sons, Charles T. Chadwick, Jr. of Bethel, Minn. and Franklin Chadwick of St. Paul, Minn.; 20 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 23 at the United Methodist church of Springville, conducted by the Rev. Clive Cook. Funeral services were also held Monday, June 26 at the Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova, W.V. with interment in Cyrus cemetery at Kenova, W.V. A memorial fund has been established. Murdoch chapel in Springville had charge of the arrangements.
