Mrs. Nanny R. Baer Hoover, 89, wife of Carl C. Hoover, 849 Daniels St. NE, Cedar Rapids, died Sunday morning at 9 a.m. following a long illness.
Mrs. Hoover was born Oct. 13, 1876 in Pennsylvania, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel B. Baer and came to Iowa and settled in Waterloo coming to the Robins community in 1911.
She was married to Carl C. Hoover Feb. 12, 1921 at Waterloo, Ia. and had lived in Cedar Rapids the past 44 years.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Phillip of Cedar Rapids; three sisters, Mrs. Harry Martin (Mary) of Mt. Morris, Ill., Mrs. Henry (Edna) Lowe of Poplar, Montana, and Mrs. S.B. (Evelyn) Miller of Cedar Rapids; one brother, Frank D. Baer of Wadena, Minn.; three granddaughters, Nancy, Sandra and Sally Hoover of Cedar Rapids.
Mrs. Hoover was a life-long member of the Robins Church of the Brethren. She taught the young peoples Sunday school class for many years.
Memorial services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Turner Chapel in Cedar Rapids conducted by the Rev. David Hykes. Burial was in Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion.
