Cedar Rapids Evening Gazette Wednesday January 12, 1921

Lilene Winnifred Powers was born November 24, 1911 and died January 9, 1921 at the age of nine years. Lilene was only ill for a few days and her death came as a shock to every one who knew her. She was bright and energetic in her school work and an unusual student of all things spiritual and though she knew her end was near she was brave throughout. Those that knew her will say that truly one of the most beautiful flowers has been taken to grow in God's garden.
She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Powers, 622 North Thirteenth street, and one sister, Alice.
Private funeral services were held from the home Tuesday at 10 a.m. and burial was in Shiloh cemetery.
