Veneta M. Jones, 76, of Alburnett, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday evening in Winslow House Care Center, Marion, following a short illness. Born July 22, 1913, at Toddville, she married Paul L. Jones Aug. 27, 1933 at Rockford, Ill. He died in 1970. Mrs. Jones, a Cedar Rapids resident for 36 years, had resided with her daughter during the past year.
Surviving are a daughter, Sue Spina of Alburnett; a son, James R. of Iowa City, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Services: 10 a.m. Monday, Brosh Chapel, by the Rev. Eugene McDaniel of Toddville Free Methodist Church. Burial: Shiloh Cemetery, Marion. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the chapel. A memorial fund has been established.
