James "Jim" R. Jones, 53, of 2128 S. Riverside Dr., died Monday, Sept. 6, 1993, in his home after a long illness. Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Brosh Chapel, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Shiloh cemetery, Hiawatha, with military rites. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to services time Thursday at the chapel. The Rev. Williams Harnish will officiate....
Born July 12, 1940, in Cedar Rapids, he was the son of Paul and Veneta Milburn Jones. Jim was employed for several years at Link Belt as a foreman and coordinator in the steel shop and later was a foreman at Harnischfeger. For the past 12 years, he worked in the maintenance department at the ACT building in Iowa City. He served with the Navy. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and boating.
VFW Post 788 will conduct the military graveside services. A memorial fund has been established.
