Mamie E. Hassler, 86, of 1227 Third street NW, widow of Edward J. Hassler and a longtime resident of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday at Payson, Ariz., where she had been visiting.
Born July 15, 1890, at Nebraska City, Neb., she was married to Charles E. Skersick in 1909. They were later divorced. She was married to Mr. Hassler in 1940. Mr. Hassler died in 1969. Mrs. Hassler was a member of the Lutheran church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Baker, El Monte, Calif.; three sons, Leslie R. Skersick, Sanders, Ariz.; Lewis C. Skersick, Downey, Calif.; and Richard D. Skersick, Gallup, N.M.; 18 grandchildren, and a number of great-grandchildren.
Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Beatty-Beurle-Murdoch chapel by the Rev. Richard A. Kothe. Burial: Shiloh cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 3 p.m. Tuesday.
