The death of Mrs. Amanda Black, a life-long resident of this county, occurred Saturday evening in Cedar Rapids, following an illness. She was the widow of William Black, farmer, who died two years ago. She was born in the county February 18, 1871, and is survived by a son, Ray Black, R.F.D., No. 4, Marion, and by one daughter, Mrs. Willard Barker of Independence, and by two sisters, Mrs. B.D. Bosworth, Ruleton, Kansas, and Mrs. Roy Karr, Buckingham, Iowa, and by two brothers, Leslie Coleman of Walker and Frank Coleman of Pontiac, Mich. Funeral services were held from the Turner chapel Monday afternoon with Rev. R.S. Phillips in charge, and burial was in the Shiloh cemetery, near Louisa.
