Native of Germany Dies at Farm Home
Margaret Barbara Hackert, 71, a native of Germany, died at her farm home, north of Alburnett, at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, after a long illness.
She was born November 20, 1876, the daughter of Leonard and Christian Ditchelmiller Klinger. She came to this country Nov. 22, 1892 and has lived near Alburnett since then. She was married April 4, 1900 to John Hackert. Mr. Hackert died at Alburnett Aug. 2, 1918.
Funeral services were held in Yocom chapel at 2 p.m. Sunday with Rev. R.E. Kerney, pastor of the Evangelical United Brethren church at Alburnett, officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Harold Johnson and Mrs. Ben Boddicker. Pallbearers were Roy Nietert, Ernest Dunn, Richard Ewen, Charles DeWoody, Raymond Nietert and Harold Johnson. Burial was in Alice cmetery.
Surviving are five children, Fred, Julius and Elsie at home, Mrs. Hazel Akers, Central City and Mrs. Harry Hackert, Stanwood; a sister, Mrs. Rosa Hackert, Alburnett, and two brothers, George Klinger, West Plains, Mo., and John Klinger, Marion. Two sons, Walter and Albert died in infancy.
