Irvin L. Ford, of 1185 Tenth St., a lifelong resident of Marion died at 9:05 a.m. Sunday, June 8 in a Marion Care Center following a short illness. He was born the son of Elias and Olive Copeland Ford on Sept. 30, 1889 at Marion. On Oct. 14, 1914 at Marion he was married to Jessie Ives, who died July 28, 1954. Mr. Ford was a 1909 graduate of Marion High School, and was Manager of the Farmers Elevator in Marion 32 years until retiring. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church; Marion Lodge No. 6, A.F. & A.M.; Cedar Rapids Consistory; El Kahir Shrine; and a former member of the Marion School Board.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Wilbert D. (Mary Ellen) Friehauf of Yakima, Wash., Mrs. Maurice (Dorothy) Jacobs of Marion, and Mrs. James (Frances) Carr of St. Louis, Mo.; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and a son Norman who died in infancy.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, at the First United Presbyterian church in Marion, conducted by Rev. Jay A. Miller and Marion Lodge No. 6, A.F. & A.M. A Memorial Fund has been established.
Interment was in Oak Shade Cemetery.
