HENRY ALLEN SCOTT, 62, DEAD AT MARION

Henry Allen Scott, eldest son of John Bently and Mary Elizabeth Scott, was born April 5, 1857, in Marion, Ia., and died Monday morning, September 22, at the age of 62 years, 4 months and 17 days. When a little over one year of age he moved to a farm six miles northeast of Marion, where he lived until 1915, when he retired and moved into Marion. He became a member of the Congregational church when a boy and has been a deacon for many years. He was married January 30, 1889 to Sarah Wiggins at Uniontown, Pa., and to this union three children were born. Bertha Miller and Harry of near Marion, and Donald of Des Moines, who with the wife survive him. Three grandchildren, two brothers, Ed M. Scott of Cedar Rapids, and John of Brownsville, Texas, and Mrs. W.W. Vaughn of Marion also survive. He was a member of Masonic lodge No. 6, A.F. & A.M.
