Augustine E. Miller, 84, of 995 Eighteenth street, a Marion resident the last 22 years, died early Friday in a Marion nursing home.
Born Dec. 25, 1883, in Buchanan county, he was married Sept. 6, 1911, to Bertha Scott in Marion. Mr. Miller went to Corvallis, Ore., as a young man and operated a dairy near Portland. He returned to Iowa 56 years ago and farmed in the Marion vicinity until retiring in 1946. He was a member of First Presbyterian church.
Survivors, besides his wife, are two sons, Glenn E. Miller of Marion and Harold S. Miller of Purcell, Okla.; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Rosamond Hardin of San Diego; two brothers, D. Frank Miller of Eugene, Ore., and Harold H. Miller of Canby, Ore.
Services: Monday at 11 a.m. in Murdoch chapel by the Rev. Jean P. Hauter and the Rev. Clyde C. Scott. Burial: Oak Shade. Friends may call at the chapel Saturday after 2 p.m. Friends may, if they wish, contribute to the First Presbyterian church memorial fund.
