Thursday November 7, 1918 The Marion Weekly Sentinel
Mrs. Louise Jane Cole died Saturday after a brief illness. Anxiety over her sons, now with the army in France, is said to have affected her health.
She was born July 15, 1856, in Chambersburg, Pa., and when a little child, nine months old, was brought to Marion by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel C. Horn. With the exception of a few years spent in Albert Lea, Min., and Tacoma, Wash., thais [sic] has always been her home. On June 3, 1879, she was married to Morris E. Cole, who died seven years ago. Five children survive her: Harry L. Cole, of Minneapolis; Neva M. Cole and Mrs. Catherine Seigner, of Aberdeen, Wash.; Willard A. Cole, now in the U.S. army and Robert D. Cole, who was at home with his mother, also two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Dawson, of this city, and Miss Mary Horn of Davenport.
Mrs. Cole was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and of the Woman's Relief Corps. Shew as a loyal, faithful worker in the corps, a kind neighbor and a woman of simple tastes, her home and family being her greatest interests.
The funeral was held Monday, conducted by the Rev. A.H. Hanscom. Interment in Oak Shade cemetery.
