George J. Scott, 65, of 700 35th St., Marion, died Wednesday at University Hospitals in Iowa City after a long illness.
He was born in Manchester May 30, 1912, and had resided in the Cedar Rapids area since 1959. He was married to the former Garnet Row May 21, 1964, in Indianapolis. He was a retired employee of Wilson Foods and had been the manager of the Sunrise Motel.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Ines Rinard of Indianapolis and Mrs. Harold Powers of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Eldon of Branson, Mo., and Thomas G. of Marion; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Glenn McNeal of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Dale Shaul of Williamsburg; four stepsons, Perry E. Scott and Willie D. Scott of Cedar Rapids, John L. Scott of Mitchell, S.D., and Bruce Ray of Marion; 2y grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Leo Rieff of Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. William Bouge and Mrs. Phillip Friedinger, both of Chicago; and a brother, Clarence, of Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Services: 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Kuba Funeral Home East by the Rev. Louis Trzil. Burial: St. John's Cemetery. Wake service at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Kuba Funeral Home East, where friends may call after 7 p.m. today.
