Edward LeRoy Snell, 59, of 5309 E Ave. NW, died Thursday evening at the Perrine Center, Mercy Hospital, following a brief illness.
Born Dec. 28, 1920, in Rhodes, Iowa, he was married to Marie Klieman on July 15, 1947, in Louisville, Ky. He was employed by Iowa Glass Depot for 18 years and was a trumpet player with various bands in the Cedar Rapids area. He was a member of the American Federation of Musicians and was a veteran of World War II. He served as a sergeant in the army.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Marie, is one son, Edward Jr., Alburquerque, N.M.; three daughters, Becky Gosnell and Viki Dunham, both of Cedar Rapids, and Regina Smith, Iowa City; his mother, Frances Krug, Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Darlene Kennedy of Antiock, Calif., and Doris Story of Noblesville, Ind., and seven grandchildren.
Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Turner Chapel West by the Rev. Allen Van Cleve of Central Park Presbyterian Church. Burial: Shiloh Cemetery....
