Daughter of Lawrence and Nancy Harland Hollenbeck.
Children: Henry Augustus, died in infancy
Mary R. who married George T. Austin,
Mabel a nurse.

The death of Mrs. Eliza Ellen Blackmar occurred Monday morning about 9:30, at her late home in this city. The news of her death was not unexpected by her family and friends, for it was known for a week that she was failing fast. Just a week before she died she came home from a three weeks' visit at Lake Minnetonka with her daughters, who accompanied her home. A month ago, when her daughter, Miss Mabel, came from New York, the latter thought a change would be beneficial to her mother, hence the trip to Lake Minnetonka, but to no avail. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at 4 p.m., conducted by Rev. C.F. Ensign, pastor of the Presbyterian church, of which the deceased had been a member for many years, interment taking place in Oak Shade cemetery.
Eliza Ellen Hollenbeck was born in Paris, Ind., on Jan. 12, 1842. When about six months old she came with her parents to Linn county, of which she has been a resident ever since. On April 7, 1858, she was united in marriage to Augustus Blackmar, who died Oct. 8, 1905. To this union there were born three children, viz: One son, who died in infancy; Mary R., wife of Geo. T. Austin and Mabel C. Besides the two daughters, she is survived by two brothers, Harlin Hollenbeck, of Cedar Rapids, and Charles Wesley Hollenbeck, of Kenwood Park. She was the aunt of our townsman, E.J. Mentzer, her sister being the first wife of his father, the late Joseph Mentzer, a resident of Marion for many years.
