Thursday November 26, 1891 The Marion Sentinel
Mrs. Lydia A., wife of our esteemed townsman, Mr. Alexander Paul, died last Wednesday afternoon. She had been ill only a few days with lung fever, and but few of her many friends anticipated the sad event. All who knew her esteemed her. Those who knew her best esteemed her most. Brief funeral services were held at the house, Saturday morning, and later in the day at Central City where she was taken for burial, the former conducted by Dr. Miller, and the latter by Eld. Mitchell. The attendance at both services was large, and many friends deeply sympathize with the bereaved family. Obituary in our next.
Mrs. Marilla Thing, Mrs. Paul's eldest daughter came from Eureka, Kansas, to attend the funeral. Also Mrs. Jennie Jennell, a daughter of Mr. Paul, from Hartigan, Nebraska, Mrs. Jennell will remain several weeks.
The many acts of kindness shown the family are held in grateful remembrance by them. Mr. Paul is, we are glad to say, slowly but surely recovering from his illness.
