Mrs. W.S. Starbuck Died Suddenly at Home Here Thursday

Death came suddenly to Manetta Drake Starbuck this Thursday morning at 7:20 o'clock at her home 463 Seventh street.
She was born October 26, 1857 in Moscow, Cedar county, Iowa, the daughter of Daniel T. and Eliza Jane Thomas Drake, and was married at Marengo on October 26, 1882 to Winfield Scott Starbuck, who survives together with their three daughters, Mrs. Alta May Taylor of Marion; Mrs. Lottie Louisa Beintema of Davenport, and Mrs. Grace Ethel Phelps of Marion. Two married daughters, Mrs. Sarah Maud Diederick and Mrs. Hazel Lylo Travis, and one infant son preceded her in death. There is also surviving a sister, Mrs. Anna Drake Burch of Blairstown, and five grandchildren: Richard W. Diederick, Los Angeles; Mae Leone Rousey, Davenport; Betty Jane Beintema, Davenport; Eugene Devere Travis, Cedar Rapids, and John Scott Beintema.
The deceased moved first to Marion in 1892 and back in 1925, after an interval at Oxford Junction. She was a member of Grove City Rebekah lodge, No. 35.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at four o'clock from the Yocom chapel with the Rev. A.W. Henke, pastor of the Methodist church, in charge. Burial will be made in Oak Shade.
