Francis J. Sherbon, 72, of Walker, died Monday in Mercy Hospital following a sudden illness.
He was born Jan. 1, 1914, at Walker, and married Elsie Chrisman there on July 3, 1947. Mr. Sherbon had farmed and worked at Walker Lumber Yard. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Margaret Sauer and Shirley Sauer, both of Center Point; two brothers, Joseph of Center Point and James of Walker; five sisters, Mary Lehew of Marion, Agnes Stone of Brooklyn, Florence Roberts of Hiawatha, Lorretta Mell of Norway, and Betty Sherbon of Walker; and six grandchildren.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Walker. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at Murdoch Funeral Home, Walker, where a wake service will be conducted at 11 a.m. A memorial fund has been established.
