Hannah S. Cone, 85, of 1030 8th St., Marion and a lifelong resident of the Marion and Cedar Rapids area, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. She was born the daughter of Aleck and Ida Samuelson Johnson on Feb. 6, 1896 at Marion. On June 25, 1949 in the Little Brown Church of Nashua, she was married to John Cone, Jr., who died Aug. 18, 1960. Mrs. Cone was a graduate of Marion High School and was a retired employee of the Milwaukee Railroad. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Marion; was a 50-year member and Past Matron of Marion Chapter 183, OES; was Past High Priestess of Gethsemane White Shrine; was Past President of Fidelis Circle of King's Daughters and was a member of Eu-Cha-Rest Temple No. 68, Daughters of the Nile and the Milwaukee Woman's Club.
She is survived by a nephew, William W. Johnson of Mountain View, Calif. and a niece, Mrs. Frank Lennert of Woodside, Calif. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl, Harry and Victor and a sister, Emma Johnson. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26 at the Murdoch chapel in Marion, conducted by the Rev. Jay A. Miller. Interment was in Oak Shade Cemetery. A Memorial Fund has been established.
