Ella Winslow Ely, 100, wife of the late Fred W. Ely, formerly of 1546 Washington Ave. SE, died Sunday at a Cedar Rapids nursing home following a sudden illness.
Born Sept. 12, 1879, at Hudson, N.Y., she was married to Mr. Ely on June 6, 1900, at Hudson, N.Y. He died in 1947. She had been a resident of Cedar Rapids since 1903. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Cedar Chapter No. 184 Order of the Eastern Star and the White Shrine.
Surviving are two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home after noon Tuesday. The casket will be closed prior to services.
