William M. Ozburn, 64, 856 Fifth avenue, SE., Cedar Rapids, an engine tender for the Milwaukee railroad, died Tuesday at 1:45 a.m. in a Cedar Rapids hospital following an illness of several weeks.
Born March 28, 1887, at Waddams Grove, Ill., he came to Springville as a small boy and spent his life in Sprinvgille and Marion. Mr. and Mrs. Ozburn moved to Cedar Rapids about a year ago. He had worked for the railroad since 1916.
He was married to Neva Davis at Marion in 1908. He was a member of the Veteran Employes [sic] Association of the Milwaukee railroad.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are five sons, William, Thomas, Duane and Kenneth Ozburn of Marion and Clement Ozburn of Springville; two daughters, Mrs. Frances Blanchard of Atkins and Mrs. Marcia Hayes of Marion; 20 grandchildren; three brothers, Floyd and Frank Ozburn of Marion and Thomas Ozburn of Clinton; and five sisters, Mrs. Rose Marshall and Mrs. Pearl Howard of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. June Gibler of Clark, Mo., Mrs. Eva Montique of Rockfalls, Ill., and Mrs. Maude Oxley of Marion.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Yocom-Murdoch chapel by the Rev. Richard Goins. Burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
