H.L. "Louis" Pflughaupt, a resident of Central City for the past 20 years and a resident of Linn county for 75 years, passed away at 6:05 a.m. Saturday, July 23 at St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids. He was born the son of Fritz and Mary Krapf Pflughaupt on Feb. 26, 1890, in Huron, S.D. On Nov. 2, 1910, he was married to Lelia Miles near Marion, Ia. Mr. Pflughaupt was a farmer. He was a member of the Central City Methodist church.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Carroll Pflughaupt of Coggon, Glenn Pflughaupt and Howard Pflughaupt of Central City; two brothers, Bill Pflughaupt and Milton Pflughaupt of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Katie Quass of Riverside, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter.
Services were 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 26 at the Central City Methodist church, conducted by Rev. Clyde Scott. Music was by Miss Doris Deen. Bearers were Bruce, Richard, Robert, James, Roger and Dennis Pflughaupt. Interment was in Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion. Murdoch Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
