Ava B. Waddill, 88, of 771 Third avenue died Sunday in a Cedar Rapids nursing home.
Born July 1, 1879, on a farm near Onslow, she was married to O.L. Brown Feb. 22, 1900 at Martelle. He died Oct. 9, 1934, at Springville. She was married to Walter W. Waddill on Sept. 28, 1938, in California. Mr. Waddill died Oct. 3, 1963, at Marion. Mrs. Waddill lived in Marion at various times since 1906, moving to her present home in 1949. She was a member of the First Methodist church and the Cary club. Mrs. Waddill was a former teacher and taught many years ago in Cedar Rapids.
Survivors are a daughter, Rowena B. Thurber of Marion; a son, Robert W. Brown of Midland, Mich.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Mae K. Nielson of Martelle.
Services: Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Murdoch chapel by the Rev. Lloyd C. Kellams. Burial: Oak Shade. Friends may call at the chapel Monday after 7 p.m.
