The Marion Register Monday February 10, 1908
Mrs. Howard a sister of Mr. E.F. Owen died in St. John's hospital, St. Louis, Sunday afternoon of Uremic poisening [sic]. Mr. and Mrs. Owen were at her bedside when she passed away, and will bring the remains to Marion for burial. They are expected to arrive in Cedar Rapids at 7:40 Tuesday morning where friends will meet them and escort the funeral party to the Owen home on 7th street in this city. It is not definitely settled as to the time of the funeral but it probably will be held on Wednesday.
