Lavnia A. Michael, the daughter of John and Maria Michael, was born in Mercer county, Pennsylvania, on July 11, 1839, and in 1852 came to Iowa with her parents, who located in Jackson county. After her marriage she came to Linn county, locating on a farm near Alice, and moved to Marion in 1891, where she has since resided.
On April 27, 1858, she was united in marriage to J.B. Reamer. To their union there were born a son, Howard J. and a daughter, Winnie L.
The deceased became a Christian in early childhood and after coming to Alice, united with the Evangelical church during a meeting held by Elder J. Culp. She was a consistent Chistian [sic] and a true and loving wife and mother.
After a numbers [sic] of years of suffering and failing health, she fell asleep on the evening of June 5, 1911, after a life of 71 years, 10 months and 24 days.
She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, daughter and son, two sisters and three brothers, besides other relatives and friends.
The funeral was held last Thursday at the house, Rev. L.M. Starr officiating. Interment in Oak Shade cemetery.
