BEAUTIFUL LIFE ENDS IN DEATH
Lucinda Groves Fishel Passes Away Friday At Age of 81 Years

Mrs. Lucinda Groves Fishel, well known in Marion, passed away last Friday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C.O. Wilson of Cedar Rapids, at the age of 81 years. Brief funeral services were held from the residence Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Earle A. Baker, pastor of the Methodist church, after which the body was brought to Marion and further services were held from the Methodish church, conducted by the Rev. W.L. Keeler of Mt. Vernon, who conducted the services for her late husband at the time of his death. Interment was in Oak Shade cemetery.
Born in Ohio in 1841, she was united in marriage to Peter H. Fishel in 1863 at Finley, Ohio. In February 1864 they moved to Linn county, settling on a farm northeast of Marion and later moving to the vicinity of Robins. Mr. Fishel who was a captain in the Civil war, died at the family home in this city in 1916, since which time Mrs. Fishel has been making her home with her several children.
The surviving children are S.H. Fishel of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Inez L. Helbig of Marion,n Mrs. J. H. Good of Waterloo, Mrs. C.O. Wilson of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Emma Zachery of Marion. There are thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, together with one sister, Mrs. John Perry of Cedar Rapids.
