Obituary of Mrs. Carl J. White
Calista Irene Alexander, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm Alexander, was born near Marion, November 17, 1893, and died April 15, 1920 at her home near Alburnett. Her final illness was brief although her health had not been good for a long period.
After receiving her education, she successfully taughter in the rural school of the county. When a child, she united with the Presbyterian church at Marion, and during her life was a noble Christian woman, giving of her time and talents for the upbuilding of the church or betterment of the community. Her church membership was transferred to the Alburnett Methodist church, when the family moved recently to their farm near there.
She was married September 3, 1913, to Carl J. White, and to this union, two children were born, a son, Tre?alyn {can't read name}, and a daughter, Ruth Irene, the latter dying in infancy. She is survived by her husband and son, her parents, and several brothers and sisters.
The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Methodist church conducted by Rev. D.O. Yeager, of Martelle, who formerly was pastor of the Marion circuit Methodist church assisted by the Rev. A.H. Hanscom. Interment was in Oak Shade cemetery.
