Funeral services for Mrs. Alice M. Edwards, 77, were held at Baxter's Chapel, Marion, at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 1. The Rev. Charles Mehaffey officiated at the service with burial in the Red Oak cemetery.
Mrs. Alice M. Edwards, the widow of Thomas Edwards, died in St. Luke's hospital following a lingering illness. She was a resident of Mt. Vernon previous to moving to Cedar Rapids 11 years ago. She was born Sept. 27, 1884 in Jackson county and was married to Thomas A. Edwards Sept. 19, 1912.
Mrs. Edwards is survived by 6 sons, Donald, Earl and Lawrence, all of Cedar Rapids; David, Mechanicsville, Richard, Fulton, Ill., and Paul, Eugene, Ore.; 2 daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Arline) Klahn, Mrs. Herbert (Mavis) Spangler, both of Cedar Rapids, 2 sisters, Mrs. Annie Snyder, Mechanicsville and Mrs. Myrtle Kenny, Maquoketa, a brother, Orphis Clark, Maquoketa; 19 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
