The Linn county Register of the 21st inst. says: “We learn that Mr. JAMES LEE, of Maine Township, in this county, was found dead in Cedar county, last week, seven miles north west of Wilton Junction, under circumstances which render it probable that he committed suicide. Mr. LEE was one of our most estimable men, and what could have been the cause of his taking this rash step, is as yet unknown. It is supposed by some, however, that a difficulty which he had got into with a Muscatine firm, for whom he was agent in buying pork last winter, was the probable cause. As yet, however, we have but little definite as to the exact nature of the trouble, and shall therefore refrain from the expression of any opinion on the subject.”
