Anthony "Tony" Lorenc, 72 of 1252 20th Ave. SW died thursday morning, Feb. 22, 2007 in St Lukes Hospital following a lengthy illness. Services with military honors: 2 pm, Saturday, Papick=Kuba Funeral Home East, by Rev. William Harnish. Burial Czech National Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm today at he funeral home.
Tony is survived by his wifee, Dora: stepchildren, Chris Gosenberg, Marion, and Dorine (Dan) Mouchka, rural Walker, brother, Wncil Lorenc, Ceda Rapids; step randsons, Dan Gosenberg and Aaron Mouchka and nephews, Dennis (Vicki) Irey and James Irey of Cedar Rapids.
He was proceded in death by his parents Vaclav and Katerina (Nemec) Lorec, sister and brother- in law, Emily and James Irey: and two infant brothers.
Anthony was born July 2, 1934, in Cedar Rapids and was a lifelong resident. He married Dora M. Swehla on July 2, 2003, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Tony was employed as a machinist and inspector at Cherry-Burrell Co. for 40 years, retiring in 1996. He was a peacetime Army vetern. Tony was a former member of UAW Unon Local 1024 Retirees Group. In his younger days he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his dogs.
Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Hanford Post 5
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
