Obituary
Mayme B. Steyne, 79, of 415 A Ave. NW, No. 1, died Sunday morning in the Northbrook Manor Care Center following a short illness.
She was born Oct. 14, 1909, in Walford, and married John Steyne Oct. 4, 1930, in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1961. Mrs Steyne was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church, St. Patricks Rosary Society and St. Patricks Senior Citizens.
Survivors include two sons, John of Pensacola, Fla., Daniel of Robins; seven daughters, Jacqueline Gaskill of Naperville,Ill., Roberta Milke of Swisher, Patricia Osweiler of Altoona, Carolyn Custer and Kathryn Peel both of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Lynda Walleck of Cedar Rapids and Leah Fisher of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sisters, Blanche van Scoyc of Norway and Joanne Halverson of Coralville; 32 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Services: 9:30 a.m. Thursday, St. Patricks Catholic Church, by the Rev. Ivan Nienhaus.
Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Teahen Funeral Home, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
