The funeral of A. [Alonzo] B. Smith [18 Nov 1842--13 Dec 1921] was held in the
Methodist church last Friday. Rev. Madson of Bode delivered the sermon. As Mr.
Smith was a civil war veteran [Co. A., 13th Iowa Infantry], the American
Legion turned out in full number and marched with the funeral procession to
the Union cemetery [Livermore] where he was laid to rest.
