Treason Put Down-
A Lisbon friend(J.R.) writes us that the people of that flourishing town are awake to the perils which now beset our country. The “stars and stripes” are thrown to the breeze, and military companies are being formed. He says that one of Jeff Davis’ minions came in from the country a few days since, and, not knowing the state of feeling there, jumped upon a platform and hurrahed for Davis and the Southern Confederacy, whereupon, he was quickly hoisted into the middle of the street, by means of a boot being placed in close proximity to his posterior, and commanded to “dry up!”
