Mayor Cormody Shot.

Burglars have kept up a reign of terror in Cedar Rapids for a week or ten days, finally culminating in entering Mayor Cormody's house early Monday morning where the mayor resisted the masked and dark lantern marauders. But his resistance was folly as they shot him. The bullet failed to strike any vital organs. He was taken to the hospital and it is thought will recover. So many night trains pass in all directions through Cedar Rapids that thieves and burglars easily make their escape.
