This may not be the Edward Hoffman you are looking for since the birth year is different from what you have listed.

Listed in the 1868 Lee Co., Iowa Gazetteer directory--
Edward Hoffman, watchmaker, Green Bay, re pp Jollyville
Robert Hoffman, farmer, Washington, re pp Ft. Madison

Robert's mailing address was Ft. Madison, therefore, you might check with the Ft. Madison library for additional help with burials and early marriages.
