I have some information for you, Joel, re: Christian Gram, but I could not get your computer to accept my email. Christian was my ggg-grandfather. His son John Gram, b. 25 Apr 1841 in Eppstein, Pfalz, Bavaria, Germany was my gg-grandfather. I have found Christian in the 1860, 70, and 80 censuses. He had a sister, Veronika, who immigrated to the U.S. after he did. Christian was born 11 Aug 1810 in Eppstein, Pfalz, Bavaria. He immmigrated approx. 1839-1843, probably 1841. He died probably in West Point, Lee, Iowa. He married Elisabetha (or Anna Elisabetha?) Roth on 8 Apr 1836. She was born on 10 Jun 1910, Albisheim on the Pfrimm, Pfalz, Bavaria. She died in 1892 in Lee County, Iowa. I have no information on any of their parents.
Christian and Elisabetha had 7 children: Henry (may have been from a prior marriage?); John; Katharine; Christian; Elisabeth; Jacob; and Peter. John Gram apparently had 3 wives, the second of which, Catherine Kong/Konig, was my gg-grandmother. She was born either in 1845 or 1851 in Ohio, they were married in 1870, and she died in 1887.
I hope some of this is helpful and that you'd be willing to share any further info you may have. Please email me.
